We are most proud and pleased to present Hydra’s very first Leonard Cohen-themed documentary film festival.

 

The aim of the festival is to paint a layered and nuanced portrait of Mr. Cohen through the lens of documentary films made between 1965 and 2021, and—over the course of four days—celebrate his life and art in honour of his 90th birthday.

 

The films are grouped and presented thematically, with each day of the festival focusing on one of the four themes: the life, the music, the relationship, and the song.

 

Some festival selections have never had a theatrical release while most have never been screened in Hydra. The festival offers a unique opportunity to see the films at the cinema and experience them—for the very first time—under the starry sky of Hydra.
